Terms of use
How Browse is meant to be used.
By using browse.info you agree to these terms. They are short because the promise is simple.
What Browse is
A free view of public information from named sources. Every figure is shown with its source, the source's time and its kind (observed, alert, forecast, and so on). Anything Browse works out itself, such as a change, a comparison or a count, is labelled as Browse's, and a Browse brief is composed only from the source's own fields, with each sentence linked to that source.
What Browse is not
Browse is not an emergency or warning service. Sources can be late, incomplete or revised, and Browse can fail to read them. For decisions about safety, follow your local authorities and official warning services directly. Browse is provided as it is, without any warranty, and we are not liable for decisions made on what it shows.
The sources' own terms
Words, numbers and pictures belong to their sources and keep their licences: Wikipedia text under CC BY-SA 4.0, each Wikimedia Commons picture under the licence printed beside it, World Bank data under CC BY 4.0, and US government works in the public domain. Reuse of any of it follows its source's licence and needs its credit. Browse's own words and layout are ours.
Using the site fairly
- Read, share and link to anything here.
- Do not overload the site, or collect it in bulk with automated tools; if you want to use Browse's data at volume, write to us first.
- Do not present Browse as endorsing you, or as the source of what its sources said.
Yank
Open in Yank takes you to yank.info, a site we also run, under its own terms.
Changes and questions
We may update these terms; the date below says when. Questions: comboventures+browse@gmail.com. See also the privacy page.
